The post-Christmas electronic dance party returns for its 5th year.
Contact Winter Music Festival, better known as simply Contact by local Vancouver fans, returns on December 26th and 27th to BC Place. Brought to us by local events company, Blueprint Events, it takes place at British Columbia’s largest event venue, which can fit over 50,000 people (which is a pretty rad view to behold!)
Contact was announced late September, revealing a debatable (imo) lineup.
On the one hand, it brings top beatmakers in the electronic scene such as Flume, Marshmello, and Zeds Dead. It offers something new with Getter, Mija, and slushii. It offers something old with Baauer, Hucci, and Grandtheft. And then, it offers something strange with a Disclosure DJ set as the festival closer.
Blueprint Event fans are used to grand finales, which electronic music veterans Above and Beyond, Armin Van Buuren, Skrillex, and Kaskade have accomplished in the past. Disclosure, a garage house duo, on the other hand, is best described as fiery mellow or hyperactive chill and has been a part of the scene for a lot less.
Whether you’re ecstatic about the line-up or not, is there a better way to end 2016 than dancing in onesies with your best buds?
What do you think of the wish-washy line up this year?
